A HERITAGE OF EXCELLENCE
Over the past three decades, House of Kristensen has become synonymous with the glamorous world of high fashion. Internationally in demand, Isabell Kristensen Couture opened as the first Couture atelier in Monaco & the only British Couture house to establish a second flagship boutique there in 2000, where it has stood proudly creating Couture for over 20 years.
Bespoke pieces allow House of Kristensen designs to uniquely cater to our clients’ most important events, be it private occasions such as weddings or appearances enjoyed by millions of viewers. Each event is special, and we take pride in sharing these moments with our clients.
IT ALL STARTED WITH A GOLD DRESS
When Isabell was starting out as a designer, one of her dreams was to dress iconic, strong women that she’d grown to admire. That dream first came true with Dame Shirley Bassey...
Legend goes that Isabell, who was so starstruck she could hardly string a sentance together! Worked up the courage to approach Dame Shirley, she walked up to her during a charity event and nervously blurted out “I love you Shirley! I designed a gold dress for you as one of my very first dream designs!”. Five days later, when the London shop had just opened, Dame Shirley Bassey came in, looked around for 20 minutes and then left saying she would be back when she had more time. Isabell lost all hope believing that perhaps Shirley did not like any of her designs... The next day Dame Shirely returned, purchasing 32 dresses in one go! She literally started the business in a fantastic way, and remains to this day our good luck omen.
