Esme Higgs at the BAFTA TV Awards: The Art of Something Blue

This season, we had the pleasure of dressing Esme Higgs for the TV BAFTA Awards, an evening that celebrates the very best of British television.

For the occasion, Esme wore our interpretation of “something blue”, a quiet reference to tradition, reimagined through a modern couture lens.

Cut in the softest powder-blue tulle, the gown is constructed with a fluid, lightweight silhouette that moves with ease whilst retaining structure and poise. The surface is delicately embroidered with undulating, revolving floral motifs, worked across the tulle to create a gentle sense of rhythm and texture without interrupting the purity of the design.

Each embroidered form is finished with a single fine row of 3mm marble-white sequins, carefully placed to trace the motifs and catch the light with restraint. The effect is subtle a soft glimmer against powder blue.

The palette and craftsmanship together create a modern interpretation of something blue, a reference to tradition, associated with love, fidelity, and new beginnings, expressed here through fabrication and detail.
